Creator, Director, Choreographer
Ana Cuellar is a visionary artist and powerhouse creative force in the world of dance and circus arts. Born in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, Ana began her journey as an elite gymnast on the Mexican National Team before launching a dynamic career as a choreographer, aerialist, and contemporary dance artist.
Ana is the Founder and Artistic Director of Ana Cuellar Productions, a contemporary dance company known for innovative, emotionally resonant works that blend movement, music, and visual art. Her choreography has been showcased at acclaimed festivals including the Orlando International Fringe Festival and the Latin American Festival of Performing Arts. Her work has earned prestigious accolades such as a Broadway World Orlando Award nomination for Best Professional Choreography.
Ana’s impact stretches beyond the stage and into the world of immersive, international entertainment. She serves as the Circus Director for Another Rose and Lola’s Library, theatrical, circus-infused productions aboard Virgin Voyages cruises, where she leads dynamic, high-caliber performance ensembles.
Her creative leadership also extended to Cirque du Soleil at sea, where she worked as a Choreographer, Artistic Coach, and Artistic Lead for the celebrated shows Viaggio, Sonor, Syma, and Varela. There, she choreographed multiple aerial and ground acts, including dance trapeze, straps, and duo dance, fusing technical rigor with poetic movement.
From 2004 to 2017, Ana performed with Cirque du Soleil’s La Nouba in Orlando, FL, where she was Team Leader of the Aerial Ballet in Silk and an understudy for two principal roles. Her performance experience matches her dedication to ongoing artistic development, including completing the Meisner Master Program at Truthful Acting Studios in Orlando.
Ana holds degrees in Contemporary Dance and Theater from the Autonomous University of Nuevo León and the National Institute of Bellas Artes in Mexico, where she graduated with honors and received a Talent Scholarship for Artistic Development.
Her achievements have been recognized with numerous honors, including the Tenochtitlán Award (Casa México, Orlando), the Successful Mexican Woman Award (2015), and the national Flama Vida y Mujer Award (Mexico, 2017).
